DHshipbuilding Secures Large-Scale Order Worth KRW 710 Billion,

Signs Contracts for Six Crude Oil Tankers with Two Shipping Companies

Following its KOSPI listing on August 1, DHshipbuilding has once again demonstrated its competitiveness in the global medium-sized tanker market by signing its first large-scale contract with shipping companies based in Europe and Oceania.

On the 22nd, DHshipbuilding announced that it had won an order for six Suezmax crude oil tankers worth a total of KRW 710 billion. This contract, equivalent to seven months’ worth of workload in a single day, represents a high-quality achievement with each vessel valued at approximately KRW 120 billion.

This contract is particularly significant as it involves both a repeat order from an existing client and a first-time order from a new client. The shipping company ordering two vessels has long maintained a cooperative relationship with DHshipbuilding and placed a repeat order based on proven ship quality and reliable delivery schedules.

The company ordering four vessels is a new client. Despite this being its first contract with DHshipbuilding, it decided on a large-scale order, underscoring the company’s strong shipbuilding capabilities and credibility in the global market. All six vessels will be built as eco-friendly ships meeting the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III emission standards and the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase 3 requirements.

They will also be equipped with scrubbers, and the two vessels ordered by the existing client will be built with “LNG Dual-Fuel Ready” specifications, enabling future conversion to LNG dual-fuel propulsion. The vessels are scheduled to be delivered sequentially from July 2027.

With this order, DHshipbuilding has secured a stable backlog equivalent to approximately 2.5 years of work. While the company took a relatively conservative approach to orders in the first half of this year as part of a strategic stance, it has now begun responding to market changes and is expected to announce additional orders in the near future.

A DHshipbuilding representative stated:
“The fact that an existing client has returned with a new order after recent deliveries, alongside a large first-time order from a new client, is highly significant. Based on our proven technological expertise and reliable delivery capabilities, we will continue to expand the trust of global shipowners.”
