Global Shipowners’ Top Choice, DH Shipbuilding Secures KRW 1.02 Trillion in Orders in Just Two Months
– Cumulative orders surpass KRW 1 trillion in early February, achieving 70% of annual target at record speed
– Holds a commanding 62% share of the global Suezmax market this year, firmly maintaining No. 1 position
– Strong repeat orders confirm shipowners’ trust: “For Suezmax, DH Shipbuilding is the clear choice”
DH Shipbuilding has once again demonstrated its unmatched competitiveness in the global Suezmax crude oil tanker market, firmly establishing itself as the preferred and irreplaceable partner for leading shipowners worldwide.
On the 6th, DH Shipbuilding announced that it had secured additional orders for two Suezmax-class crude oil tankers from a Marshall Islands–based shipowner. This follows contracts for four vessels in mid-January and two more in late January. With another two vessels added just two weeks later, the company continues its uninterrupted order rally.
As a result, DH Shipbuilding has secured a total of eight Suezmax crude oil tankers so far this year, accounting for 62% of the global Suezmax orders placed worldwide (13 vessels).
Notably, the shipowner behind the latest order signed its first shipbuilding contract with DH Shipbuilding in November last year and confirmed a follow-up order just three months later, highlighting strong satisfaction and trust.
The contract price stands at approximately KRW 129 billion per vessel, exceeding the recent market average for similar vessels. This clearly demonstrates that DH Shipbuilding is not only securing volume but is also being recognized for its premium value in the global market.
Order intake is progressing at a record pace. As of February, cumulative orders have reached approximately KRW 1.02 trillion in just two months, fulfilling 70% of the company’s annual order target.
The two newly ordered vessels are scheduled for delivery in August and December 2028, respectively.
