DH Shipbuilding Secures Additional Order Following Recent 6-Vessel Deal Signs Contract for Suezmax Crude Oil Carrier with Oceania-Based Shipping Company

DH Shipbuilding announced on September 30 that it has signed a contract with a shipping company in the Oceania region to build one Suezmax-class crude oil carrier, valued at approximately KRW 122 billion.

This follows the company’s major order just ten days earlier, when it secured six Suezmax crude oil carriers worth KRW 710 billion. With this latest deal, DH Shipbuilding continues to build strong momentum in new orders.

The client is known for its strong focus on environmentally friendly vessel projects. Industry observers view this contract as a clear endorsement of DH Shipbuilding’s eco-friendly shipbuilding capabilities and its growth potential.

The newly contracted vessel will meet the latest environmental standards set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), including Tier III emissions regulations and EEDI Phase 3 energy efficiency requirements. It will be equipped with a scrubber system to reduce sulfur oxides and feature an “LNG Dual-Fuel Ready” design, allowing conversion to liquefied natural gas propulsion in the future.

With this order, DH Shipbuilding has secured nearly three years of stable workload. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in July 2027.

A DH Shipbuilding representative said,
“Securing an additional order so soon after last week’s large-scale contract clearly demonstrates the strong trust global shipowners place in DH Shipbuilding. We are currently in smooth discussions with multiple clients and expect to secure further contracts in the near future.”
