DHshipbuilding, the “Defending Champion” of the Suezmax Market, Kicks Off the Year with Two New Orders and Moves to Defend Its Global Leadership

  • Secures Orders for Two Suezmax Crude Oil Tankers,

Strengthening Focus on Its Core Vessel Type

  • First New Order of the Year from a New Customer,

         Expanding Its Client Base

DHshipbuilding has successfully secured contracts for two Suezmax crude oil tankers from a new customer at the beginning of the year, once again demonstrating its position as the world’s leading builder of Suezmax-class vessels.

On January 13, DHshipbuilding signed a shipbuilding contract with Bermuda-based shipping company Nordic American Tankers (NAT) for two 157,000 DWT Suezmax crude oil tankers.

NAT is a New York Stock Exchange–listed shipping company that specializes in operating Suezmax crude oil tankers. The company has previously placed orders selectively with major global shipyards, and this marks its first order with DHshipbuilding. This decision is seen as further proof that the quality competitiveness and delivery reliability of DHshipbuilding’s Suezmax tankers are among the best in the world.

The newly ordered vessels will be built with the latest hull design, improving fuel efficiency and operational performance by more than 3% compared to existing models. The ships will also feature environmentally friendly specifications that comply with the International Maritime Organization’s IMO Tier III regulations and the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase 3 standards.

A DHshipbuilding official said, “Suezmax crude oil tankers are our strongest vessel type, and we will continue to focus on securing orders centered on our core products this year as well.”

The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in October and November 2028, respectively.
