New contracts signed with Bermuda- and Liberia-based shipowners, highlighting strong competitiveness in the Suezmax tanker market
DH Shipbuilding has once again demonstrated its position as a global leader in the Suezmax crude oil tanker market, securing shipbuilding contracts for two consecutive days at the beginning of the new year.
On January 13, the company signed contracts with a Bermuda-based shipowner for the construction of two Suezmax crude oil tankers. This was followed the next day, January 14, by additional contracts for two more vessels of the same class with a Liberia-based shipowner, bringing the total to four vessels in just two days.
In January alone, a total of five Suezmax crude oil tankers were ordered worldwide. By securing contracts for four of these five vessels, DH Shipbuilding has clearly outperformed its competitors and strengthened its dominance in this market segment.
Notably, all of the latest orders were placed by new customers. This achievement reflects DH Shipbuilding’s growing recognition among global tanker operators, not only for its proven quality and delivery reliability, but also for its ability to earn the trust of new clients.
Through these consecutive orders, DH Shipbuilding has secured contracts worth approximately KRW 500 billion, achieving around 30% of its annual order target within the first two weeks of the year.

A company official stated,
“Building on the strong brand competitiveness we have established in this sector, we will continue to deliver stable and consistent performance throughout the year.”
Under the contracts, two of the vessels are scheduled for delivery starting in February 2029, with the remaining ships to be delivered sequentially thereafter.
