DHshipbuilding announced that it won a new order for one Suezmax crude oil tanker worth about 130 billion KRW from an Oceania shipping company.
This shipping company first signed a contract with DHshipbuilding in 2023
and has placed new orders every year since then,
showing strong trust and a long-term partnership.
With this new contract, DHshipbuilding has now received 9 ship orders in 2026 in just three months. This means the company has already achieved 82% of its annual order target before the end of the first quarter.
The ship ordered this time recorded the highest price among this year’s contracts, proving the premium value of DHshipbuilding.
Recently, tensions in the Middle East, including Iran, have caused ships to take longer routes for safety. As a result, the distance for transporting crude oil has increased. This situation is increasing demand for Suezmax tankers, which are suitable for long-distance transport.
DHshipbuilding is considered a leading builder of Suezmax tankers, so the company is benefiting from this market change.
A company official said that repeat orders from existing customers show that the market recognizes DHshipbuilding’s high quality and reliable delivery. The company also expects demand for efficient Suezmax ships to grow, making it likely that the annual order target will be reached early.
The newly ordered tanker is scheduled to be delivered in October 2029.
