Daehan Shipbuilding Receives Order for One Aframax-class Crude Oil Tanker
Daehan Shipbuilding (Hainan-gun, Jeollanam-do) announced on the 23rd that it received an order for one Aframax class crude oil tanker from a European shipping company.
The ship is scheduled to be delivered around March 2022 and includes an option for one ship, so additional orders are expected in the future. The number of remaining orders was 17, which secured a stable building capacity for two years.
Daehan Shipbuilding has achieved the world's largest share of orders for four years of Aframax-class tanker and has been recognized as a medium-sized ship specialist for several years after successfully handing over ships to global shipping companies.
The Aframax class is the most in-demand and economically efficient ship of 85,000 to 125,000 DWT (weight tonnage of goods, net cargo loading capacity excluding the weight of the ship).
While the shipbuilding industry, hit by the worst recession in the history of Corona 19, is in trouble, online non-face-to-face order-taking activities are expected to breathe life into related partners and community.
