According to the Daeahn Shipbuilding, a basic certification ceremony was held at the Busan branch office of DNV, including Lee Kyung-Seok, technology head of Daehan Shipbuilding, Lee Jung-Un, head of Marine Works, and Kim Wan-kyu, head of Marine Works.

In recent years, global shipbuilders have been trying to make smart ships market that combines digital technology with ship operating technology, such as connecting ship and land control centers in real-time.

Three major Korean shipbuilders are also developing and applying smart ship solutions and are continuously updating them.

In line with this, Daehan Shipbuilding has launched the SNaut brand, a smart ship platform.

They cooperate with Marine Works, a Korean company specializing in ship navigation equipment developed a smart ship platform with DNV cyber security plus design. It obtained basic certification from DNV in April.

The smart ship platform, which Daehan Shipbuilding has been certified, enables monitoring at the same time as the control center. So it has the advantage of monitoring and controlling various systems for safety support, optimum sailing.

It also has anti-virus protection functions that can protect ships from information protection policies and hacker attacks that invade from outside.

Lee Kyung-Seok, head of the technical department, said, "We are happy to provide a smart ship platform that improves safety and reliability. This basic certification proves that our technology is at the same level as Korean major shipyards. We will put effort into a continuous update for our competition reinforcement."
