Eco-friendly ships conforming to IMO air pollution prevention tertiary regulation
Suezmax Crude Oil Tanker built by Daehan Shipbuilding selected as the World-class Product of Korea. It is the third time that a large Product Carrier and an Aframax Tanker had been selected as the World-class Product of Korea last year.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) select the product leading the world industry every year.
Among them, Daehan Shipbuilding's Suez Max crude oil carrier is ranked the world's top five, with a market share of more than 5 percent, an annual market share of more than 50 million dollars, or annual export volume of 5 million dollars.
According to Daehan Shipbuilding, the Suez Max Crude Oil Carrier selected as the World-class Product is equipped with the latest eco-friendly equipment. It has High fuel consumption and efficiency ships with SOxScrubber (SOxScrubber), reducing sulfuric acid emissions. So it meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s environmental regulations, Tier III (Tier III).
An official at Daehan Shipbuilding said, "It is that daehan Shipbuilding's efforts to develop eco-friendly ships and win orders have paid off.", adding, "We will continue to make efforts to produce high-quality ships that satisfy our customers."
Lim Jae-Hyun, the head of the Daehan Shipbuilding Quality Management Department, was selected as the world top product player and received a commendation from the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy for his contribution to cost reduction and customer satisfaction through quality management, welding quality, and improvement system management.
